JConcepts continues to build crawler body options with the addition of the Warlord cab only designed for 12.3” wheelbase vehicles. The Warlord has tucked front fenders to allow clearance for an assortment of tire options while also giving the body shell a very competition inspired look. The new cab body combines elements from vintage vehicles while carrying some new ruggedness and attitude which JConcepts can provide. In addition, the Warlord includes a roof visor which can be installed separately to give the roof a top and windshield overhang if the user visualizes it this way.
The JConcepts philosophy on a tucked body is to make it look like a truck, add allowances for increased articulation, minimal overhang and to accommodate competition sized tires. The single cab body brings back the memories of bench seating, lap seat beats, AM/FM radio turned up to the max. Vintage JConcepts body shells arrive clear in the package, have preinstalled overspray film, include versatile decal sheet, and window masks.
The Warlord body is formed in clear polycarbonate and to give the user more detail, the mold is built in several pieces to give front undercuts. These details are seen in witness lines on the body where body molding elements blend together. The user will see body lines in the front because of this feature. The body can be painted over the witness lines or using them as part of their own design, the choice is always up to the consumer on decoration of a JConcepts body.
The shell has plenty of hard details sculpted into the design, with square front headlights, horizontal turn signaling, extended nose with upper scoop for rigidity. The paneling across the sides has plenty of changes in direction giving some dent side effects and a hard separation with reinforcements on the back of the cab. The narrow front nose Tucks to ~5” in width giving the Warlord plenty of front-end clearance for JConcepts Hunk, Landmines, Ruptures, and Megalithic tire combinations. Running the body at a lower height and especially on vehicles such as the Axial SCX Pro gives the proper look and stance designers from JConcepts had in mind.
Larger opening wheel well and fender flares make their way into this project and blend smoothly into the profile giving a little more might and matter. Single window cab, door lines, hood lines are all intact on the JConcepts piece to overcome all obstacles. The rear window is scribed into place and the recessed pane adds a drop of scale property. Under the window, the pocketed detail increases the rigidity of the panel giving the body more structural integrity.
The clear pre-trimmed body is completely factory cut with an incredible edge finish around the wheel wells and along the front bumper area. The decals apply easily and quickly, and the included window mask has already been tailored to the exact shapes of the windows for an easy-to-use concept. Appling the grille, and headlights finalize the look, place miscellaneous JConcepts, and Warlord logos about the shell for the best look.
